The President’s Report – June 10th, 2008

Our 1st Foundation Board Meeting was held here at 2pm after our regular General Meeting. Foundation Board Members and Advisors that were present accepted their appointments to the Board. Several issues involving the operation of the Center were discussed and approved by the members present. RTN George Watson was reinstated as our Bahay Bata Baseball Coach and as an active member of RC Clark Centennial.

Carl Chiulli was approved as the Center’s Interim Administrator subject to individual interviews with Foundation Board Members. May I remind the Club and the Foundation Member’s that Mr. Chiulli is the only one who stood up and agreed to help run the Center without any compensation. He might be a little wet behind the ears, but, by God, he’s out there trying. I, myself, believe that he is more than qualified for that position and I will fight to keep him on. We are in no position to be “picky” at this stage of the game, unless we resign ourselves to hire one at a minimum starting salary of P18,000.00 per month. It’s not like we have people falling all over each other trying to get to the Center to help out with the administration, like they do have at Fr. Rocky’s Don Bosco.

The Year-End Review was a great success. We earned nine awards:
1. Testimonial Governor’s Award for the President
2. Outstanding Institutionalized Project – Bahay Bata
3. Special Award to the RCCC’s Angeles Bahay Bata Learning Center
4. Top Clubs in Community Service
5. Top Clubs in International Service
6. Top Clubs in Rotary Foundation-Annual Giving – 5th Place
7. Top Clubs in Rotary Foundation-Highest Contributor per Capita – 5th Place
8. Outstanding Rotarian Award to Ron Nethercutt
9. Outstanding Club Secretary to PP/Sec. Rey Pineda

It was a very nice event and our congratulations go out to RC Mabalacat and Angeles Kuliat who received an award in almost every category along with being tied for The Best Rotary Club in the District 3790. RC Metro Olongapo received the other Best Club and President Award congratulations to all and special thanks from me to our members, because without you this could not have happened

I would like to recommend that we accept Dr. Art Basa of the Strongsville, Ohio Club as an Honorary Member of RC Clark Centennial for his help in obtaining the MG 67184 Computer Lab for the Angeles Bahay Bata Learning Center and future Medical Missions to be done in our name.

RTN Lionel Clayton is still very ill and would like one of our members to accompany our Rugby Team to the Nomads Training session this weekend in Alabang. He also thinks that he’s found a Rugby Manager for our team.

That’s all I have for today folks, ….President Victor
